What the hell is happening to Our State Forests.
A very early morning start, led to a trip to Comboyne in the hinterland of the Hastings Valley and along many forestry roads throughout the area.
I often think of the environmental damage done last century as being ignorance. With the amount of discussion about global warming, we are all aware of the necessity of having trees in our environment to absorb carbon gas emissions from the atmosphere.
What I saw today was a total contradiction, and environmental rape allowed by our Governments. Clear felling of our State Forests on a large scale. We condemn the clear felling of forests in the Amazon and South East Asia, when we should be looking in our own backyard!
At the end of the day, after filling three 8GB memory cards, I knew I would have to make room on the memory of my computer to download all the information. This topic will be the subject of further research and investigation. The larger Australian public needs to be more informed, and as aware as the residents of Comboyne and other small rural communities throughout NSW.
Just a couple of images today from an earlier trip to beautiful Comboyne this year when I was invited to be the photography judge at the Comboyne Show.
MY SLR Camera tip for today is to make sure you have backed up your best images to an external hard drive and have a minimum of 20% free space on your computer.
