Is it too much to wish that one day our Grandkids will experience Peace on Earth.

My Grandson stayed over last night and to my surprise he joined me at 5.15 am for a wander down the beach to watch Sunrise.
It was great to watch him enjoying what nature was offering this morning. His favourite thing to do is throw stones into the water, and he really is over the photography after four years of being the subject. I'm sure when he gets older he will appreciate the collection of his childhood.
A few quiet moments watching the waves play with the sand at the entrance to Lake Cathie.
A Standard Poodle hitting the beach in the early morning light.
Always a fisherman to be found. The log suddenly appeared one morning a few weeks back during a big swell.
Late yesterday we saw a Koala in the trees across from home but it was too late for the camera. I went searching later this morning, but other than a bit of scat here and there, he was no where to be found. They are really difficult to spot amongst the branches, and they are easier to find when they are on the move. The Koala population has suffered around here and other areas of the mid north coast from bush fires, dogs and motor vehicles. This image was taken a couple of years ago in the same location.
The reserve on the southern side of Lake Cathie has many large Melaleuca Trees (Paperbark) and the bases of three together provided some good textures and colours to photograph.
Looking back from home there was about a dozen surfers out, but with a slight onshore breeze the waves soon deteriorated. The temperature has dropped and its quite cold inside today!
The Turtle Dove has been a regular lately on the courtyard wall, and I would'nt be surpised if there is a nest somewhere in the garden.
"Jimmy" the Eastern Water Dragon was out again today, and making the most of some ants on the balcony. I have seen slightly larger dragons capture small birds.
My SLR Camera tip for the day is get down low on the ground to shoot wildlife when possible.
